You consent to the Terms and Conditions when you use the Site. If you disagree with any part of the Terms and Conditions, you may not use this website in any way.
The Site - This website is offered to you by RICS Books – a trading name of RICS - Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Survey Systems Ltd (SSL).
Ordering - No order or acceptance of a quotation from either RICS or SSL shall be binding upon RICS or SSL.
Pricing, Availability & Products - Both RICS & SSL aim to provide the most accurate product information and pricing, but these are subject to change without prior notice. Unless specifically stated, none of the products or services featured on this website - that are supplied by third-party publishers, manufacturers, distributors and other suppliers - are endorsed by RICS, or any of it's businesses (including RICS Books). RICS do not represent or warrant that the material comprised on this website is completely accurate or up-to-date and have no liability in respect of such material or for any use of any such information by any person.
Delivery – Invoices and receipts are despatched separately by post from RICS. Wherever possible, goods will be despatched from SSL with delivery note and after sales information within 24 hours. This is subject to the availability of products - in some cases products are either manufactured to order, not stock items or on Back Order with the manufacturer – and neither RICS nor SSL will be held responsible for delays in these circumstances. Any time or date of delivery named by either RICS or SSL is an estimate only and neither shall not be liable for the consequences of any delay.
Returns - Goods sold as new represented by the customer to be defective shall not form the subject of any claim for work done by the customer or for any loss damage or expense whatsoever arising directly or indirectly from such defects, but such goods, if returned to SSL and accepted by SSL as defective will, at the request of the customer and if practicable, be replaced as originally ordered, provided that no liability shall arise in respect of any defect which occurs more than 12 months after despatch from SSL’s premises or where the customer fails to notify us of any such alleged defect within 30 days of its discovery. Defects in quality shall not be a ground for cancellation of the remainder of the order or contract. The customer shall deliver such defective goods to SSL’s premises free of charge and SSL will deliver the repaired or replaced goods at SSL’s expense to the original place of delivery. In the case of goods replaced, the original defective goods shall become SSL’s property free of charge. No claims for damage in transit, shortage of delivery or loss of goods will be entertained by either RICS or SLL, unless in the case of damage in transit or shortage of delivery, a separate notice in writing is given to the carrier (if any) concerned and to us within three days of the receipt of goods followed by a complete claim in writing within five days of receipt of goods and in the case of loss of goods notice in writing is given to the carrier concerned and to us and a complete claim in writing made within 10 days of the date of consignment. Where goods are accepted from the carrier concerned without being checked the Delivery Book of the carrier concerned must be signed 'not examined'.
Privacy of your data – RICS and SSL takes the privacy and the security of the personal information you provide to us very seriously. All information you give to RICS, any of it’s businesses or SSL is stored securely and will not be sold, traded or rented to any third party. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Payment Methods - Full payment for all orders is required at the time of ordering. All orders not accompanied by payment or authorisation to debit Visa/Maestro/Switch accounts, or credit accounts, will be returned with a proforma invoice requesting payment before goods can be despatched.
RICS Books Credit Account Facility – RICS operate a credit account facility, click here (http://www.ricsbooks.com/new_account.asp) for further details. Goods supplied against a credit account must be paid within 30 days from the date of invoice for UK customers and 60 days for European customers. For customers from the rest of the world please email rbcustomerservice@rics.org for details about our credit account facility.

• Monthly accounts are payable within 30 days of the date of the invoice.
• Credit facilities will only be granted on receipt of satisfactory references.
• Credit facilities will not be available until RICS sends you notice in writing.
• RICS reserves the right to withdraw credit facilities if the account becomes overdue or the monthly credit limit is exceeded. RICS employs professional collecting agents to recover outstanding debts.
• If the account is not used for 6 months, credit facilities may be terminated. RICS reserves the right to close the account at any time by notice in writing.
• All orders and correspondence must quote the relevant customer account number.
VAT - Products herein are subject to VAT at the standard rate. If there is any change in legislation, alterations will be made in accordance with such changes. RICS’ VAT registration number is GB 584 9400 13.
Changes to Terms and Conditions - RICS and SSL reserve the right to change or update the Terms and Conditions relating to the use of the Site from time to time without prior notice to Users.
Governing Law - These terms and conditions are guaranteed by and constructed in accordance with English law with English courts having exclusive jurisdiction.
